Back in the mid-2020s, we had Ethereum, which operated on a Proof of Work consensus model, where you contributed the computing power of your graphics card, and upon breaking a block, you received rewards in ETH. This is similar to what happens with Bitcoin today, but it requires significantly more computing power, using ASICs.

Finally, my idea with ArcMiner is to simulate something similar, but within the Arc Network. This 

dApp is simulated, so it's not actually using the computational power of your GPU and CPU
